A good man meets his end in Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 6.

The splendor of Montana was showcased in Episode 6. Emmett Walsh, the president of the Stockgrowers Association, and John Dutton find a spot to sleep under a tree as the day comes to an end.

Who Died in Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 6?

John says that the day they just had almost disproved his notions of perfection as he and Emmett get ready to sleep. Emmett responds, "Well, John, if it wasn't perfect, it was damn close."

He then begins to snore quietly. When John attempts to wake Emmett up the following morning, he discovers that he passed away quietly while sleeping.

“Well, Emmett, I couldn’t have dreamed up a better death if you paid me,” John says. “You sure earned it, old friend.”

Keeping up his customary stoic demeanor, John tells Clara, his assistant, that he will not be sad because Emmett had such a good ending. When he tells Rip and Beth what happened, he obviously has some emotion in his voice — that much is undeniable.

The scene reminds me of a couple of other dark times that happened on the Dutton Ranch. Like in Season 1, as he looked for a location to bury his son, John held Lee's body under a tree. And in 1883, when Elsa suffered an arrow wound and passed away, James hugged her on the grass.

John Tells Emmet’s Wife

If Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 6 wasn't already bringing the house to its knees, it was sure to do so. To explain what had happened, John went back to Emmett's wife, but when he did so without Emmett, his wife understood without his having to say a word.

Emmett passed away the way a cowboy should, according to John. “Head resting against the saddle, staring at the stars. His eyes closed,” John tells her while she weeps.
