Xbox Stands with PlayStation on #BlackLivesMatter

PlayStation has recently ran into some flak for cancelling their PS5 announcement set for June 4, and some less than reputable fans have been posting comments like ‘Xbox would never do something like this.' Well, joke's on them because Xbox has decided to stand with PlayStation when it comes to #BlackLivesMatter.

Here's the post on Twitter:

Though there is some fun to a friendly rivalry between the consoles, it's absolutely necessary to see the two stand on the same side when it comes to a more pressing issue. As if the Coronavirus wasn't causing enough problems, the US' current state of turmoil can't be ignored, and countries from all over the world are helping protest #BlackLivesMatter.

PlayStation was originally supposed to have the week with their PS5 announcement, but I think it was a smart move for them to postpone the reveal, seeing as video games should be the last thing on anyone's mind right now. While there are those fanboys who were definitely angry about the delay, I think it's worth it compared to the massive criticism Sony would get for trying to sell their next console in the midst of a revolution.

As for Xbox, I'm sure they'll find the right date to reveal their Xbox Series X. While they don't have the exclusive titles that the PlayStation is known for, they do have assured backward compatibility, as well as a game engine that boasts superior power.

The Xbox Series X is expected to come out sometime later this year.
