X-Men Star Tye Sheridan Teases Update on Ready Player One Sequel

It has been more than two years since the release of Ready Player One but we have yet to get any updates on the sequel. Luckily, it looks like Tye Sheridan knows something about Ernest Cline's Ready Player Two. The star of the first live-action adaptation has just teased on when we could expect Steven Spielberg's follow-up movie.

Sheridan recently spoke to Comicbook.com where he was asked if he could share any updates on Ready Player Two. Interestingly, the X-Men: Apocalypse actor pointed out that people constantly ask him about the film.

"You know, 'Is there going to be sequel?' And I think everybody's well aware that Ernie Cline is releasing a Ready Player Two, the novel. You know, but people keep asking me and I would love to have an answer for you and I think people, you know, will and can speculate all they want, but I don't really know what the plan is yet," Sheridan said.

Although the movie sequel has not yet been officially announced, Sheridan made it clear that he is ready to return as Wade Watts aka Parzival.

"I have my fingers crossed and, of course, I think it's a great and I loved working on that film, so yeah, I hope, I hope we get to do another," he said.

It may take some time before we find out about the second film. In the meantime, fans can look forward to the book Ready Player Two, which will be released on November 24.
