X-Men Star Halle Berry Looks Back on Catastrophic Portrayal of Catwoman

I think it's pretty safe to say that Halle Berry's time in the DC Universe is something the decorated actress would choose not to relive and quite frankly, it's for the best. To give you some history lesson, Berry starred in the 2004 reimagining of Catwoman which is widely regarded by many fans and critics as one of the worst comic book films ever made. It even earned the actress a Razzie award for her portrayal of Patience Phillips (not Selina Kyle) although she was a good sport about it.

Surprisingly enough, there are actual fans who genuinely like Berry's version of the iconic femme fatale and some of them took to Twitter to express their admiration for the controversial DC film. What's even more surprising is the fact that Halle apparently read the tweets from the fandom and while she appreciates all the love she's been getting as of late, the X-Men actress couldn't help but question where that specific group of fans was when the film came out nearly two decades ago.

Retweeting one post from a fan, Berry wrote: "I’m seeing all the Catwoman love, everybody. Where were you guys 17 years ago"

Now, Zoë Kravitz is the latest actress to don the iconic Catwoman mask and while it's still a little too early to tell how she would fare compared to Berry's version of the character, I would say that she definitely has a distinct advantage over Berry thanks to her being part of a project that takes the character seriously.

Speaking of Catwoman, the character will appear in Matt Reeves' The Batman, hitting theaters in March 2022.
