X-Men: Dark Phoenix Screened Epic Footage At WonderCon

X-Men fans might not be expecting much from X-Men: Dark Phoenix after 20th Century Fox released the very first trailer for the film, however, it seems like footage shown during this weekend's WonderCon wowed audiences.

The cast and crew of X-Men: Dark Phoenix attended WonderCon this weekend, and not only did the team drop a brand new poster and cast photo for fans, but they also screened 15 minutes of footage taken from the movie. Convention attendees have been taking to social media to share their reactions to what they've seen, and it seems like the footage screened at the panel was nothing short of "spectacular."

According to one fan, the Dark Phoenix footage screened at Wonder Con was so much better than anything that Fox released in its trailers. One fan says that the material gave them a better feeling of the upcoming X-Men entry than any other trailer released by the studio.

Check out some of the reactions down here:

The positive response to Dark Phoenix's footage might sound rather surprising. Fans didn't expect much from the film after the release of its very first teaser. Word about the film's troubled production and bloated reshoots didn't really help either.

Luckily, it seems like Dark Phoenix is actually doing much better than anticipated. This is particularly good news considering that Disney plans to reboot the franchise after the film's release. We'd rather much see a great X-Men movie before the mutants head over to the MCU than to see the franchise taper off with a mediocre entry.

Dark Phoenix premieres June 7, 2019.
