Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are incredibly stoked for the arrival of the mutants to the billion-dollar franchise and despite the lack of updates from Marvel Studios, that hasn't stopped the speculation surrounding the X-Men reboot. As it stands, we still don't know which actors will appear in the project but fans have shared their dream castings since Disney's acquisition of Fox in 2019.

The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito remains a favorite to play Professor X in the project and his recent Marvel revelation gave fans renewed hope that he is one step closer to becoming the mutant patriarch. The actor confirmed last August that he's in fact been in talks with Marvel Studios but they've yet to finalize a deal. Now, should Esposito actually get cast for the role, what look from the comics could he end up getting?

Instagram artist @subi.ozil shared a marvelous artwork on Instagram depicting the Better Call Saul actor as Charles Xavier wearing his unique costume from the House of X storyline and I gotta say, while it's far from traditional, I think it actually works. Check it out here:

Esposito has long been expressing his interest in playing Charles Xavier in the MCU and while fans believe he's better suited for a villain role like Doctor Doom or Magneto, he doesn't seem keen on the idea. Of course, Marvel Studios still has the final say, and considering how stacked Phases 5 and 6 already are, it doesn't look like Kevin Feige and company are in a hurry to look for actors who will become part of the X-Men reboot.

Speaking of the mutants, Deadpool 3 is now scheduled for release on November 8, 2024.
