Wonder Woman’s Toy & Tweet Give New Hints to Ares & Themyscira

There are still four months until we can finally see whether DC films has finally turned around the state of its projects once Wonder Woman hits theaters.

And with the arrival of a new movie automatically signals merchandise being spotted left and right as tie-ins and promotions. Now new images of two toys (spotted by Batman-News) hint highly of Ares appearing in the movie.

The images of the toys are supposedly some official Wonder Woman movie merchandise—though the likeness of both Chris Pine as Steve Trevor and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman needs some improvement. Assuming that the legitimacy of these toys can be confirmed, then that little piece of armor on the lower right side of both figures appear to be pointing to the awaited god of war.

Even the box says that fans can "collect and connect," referring to the armor pieces for Ares. I'm not sure if this means Ares will have his own boxed figure, and the different pieces will make up a separate armor.

This isn't the first time that Ares was hinted for Wonder Woman. If anything, there was already a previous report that puts Ares at the center of the battle, though potentially pulling the strings to bring Diana into the fight.

If that's not enough Wonder Woman for the week, Gadot also tweeted a photo of herself dressed in her training garbs back in Themyscira. It looks like she's still in her world, because we can see two other Themyscira ladies behind her.

The landscape behind Wonder Woman looks very much like Earth's terrain, with rocks and greenery. There are some big but fuzzy figures at the back, perhaps some of the more alien structures in Themyscira that Earthlings are not aware of.

Are we going to get more teasers like this towards the release of Wonder Woman? I'm still crossing my fingers that this is DC and Warner Bros' big break in the DC films department.

Wonder Woman will be out in theaters on June 2.
