Deadpool Identifies Spider-Man as His Canon Heartmate

Canon comics material can sometimes be the only thing stopping fans from breaking out the ships and fandoms to life.

Other times, it's the comics themselves that give fans fodder to feed the flames of their imaginations. And this was the case with the latest Spider-Man/Deadpool #1.

For those who have been shipping Deadpool and Spider-Man—perhaps after Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield's Golden Globes kiss, yes?—secretly or outright, there's an official comics that now supports this.

At the very least, the two are heartmates. More specifically, Deadpool thinks of Spider-Man as his heartmate.

ComicNewbies has the excerpt of the comic where literal magic shows us how the two are connected. In the excerpt, Deadpool has been lured by none other than chimichangas into the lair of girls in a boarding school. The members are part of a witch group plotting to bring back a powerful witch to life.

They're trying to bring back their headmistress Soo, also a witch, but since that requires a vessel, they chose to summon Deadpool's sexy-sexy demon-spouse Shiklah to become their leader's vessel. And so they've tied up the Merc with a Mouth (even here he doesn't shut up) to start the summon.

After drawing blood, the ritual starts, but instead of Shiklah, Spider-Man appears in the middle of the circle. The scene is just too hilarious, as Spidey tries to force that they're friends and not heartmates. Of course, Deadpool's not taking a no, especially when magic is on his side.

The entire exchange is hilarious to say the least. And it's a nice little dig that Marvel makes for fans, if only for a little shout-out of how this could actually affect the MCU in the long run.
