Wonder Woman Writer Begs James Gunn to Employ Her in Diana Prince Series

Given her promising beginnings, Wonder Woman is a well-known DC heroine and a representation of female emancipation. Inspiring values like honesty, compassion, selflessness, and courage while being one of the first female superheroes, she finally established herself as a role model for girls and women. Diana Prince has always been adored by moviegoers as a supporting character, and her stand-alone films are always engrossing and captivating. That said, fans are hoping that they will get to experience more of the character's tale.

“Agreed. Working on it.” This is what James Gunn replied when a fan said that Wonder Woman is a complex character and that having her in movies as a supporting character is not enough to do justice to her story. Gunn added in a subsequent tweet that DC Studios is thoroughly developing an animated series because The Goddess of Truth lacks sufficient material. “We’re working on getting Wonder Woman into more animation. I agree that there hasn’t been enough of her in that area and was one of the first things I brought up to the animation folks.” Gunn commented.

Gunn’s response caught the attention of Gail Simone, who serves as the longest-running female writer of Wonder Woman and is also known for her work in Birds of Prey and Batgirl, among others, as she expressed her interest in joining the upcoming Diana Prince animated series. “Dear @jamesgunn, call me please,” she wrote. With DC fans agreeing that Gunn should hear her and let her do it.

Fans are concurring that, given that Simone has worked on the character for a considerable amount of time and her approach is ideal and gives the character life, she would be a fantastic candidate for the animated series. Additionally, given Bher's devotion to and affection for the character, as well as the fact that she is aware of what makes The Princess of Themyscira unique, it would also be justifiable to give her a significant position in the series.

After Gunn and Peter Safran's takeover, many news stories have infuriated the fans, one of which was when Patty Jenkins exited DC Studios and big names such as Henry Cavill were reportedly fired as Superman. When the co-CEOs announced their first slate of upcoming DCU projects, fans were disappointed in the lack of plans for a Wonder Woman movie. Additionally, fan-favourite Gal Gadot's future as the fierce warrior is also uncertain, although Gunn assured that she hasn't been fired or anything and Wonder Woman is still part of the franchise, it is not clear if that future includes the Red Notice actress.
