Chris Pine has always been seen by many fans as a criminally underrated actor and while he's already starred in blockbuster films in the past, he's yet to reach the same level as the other "popular" Hollywood Chrises like Evans, Pratt, and Hemsworth. His involvement in the DC Extended Universe should've catapulted him to superstardom but we obviously know what happened to Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman 1984. Now that he's basically a "free agent", other doors will definitely open for him, and according to the latest rumors, his breakout moment could take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to the latest scoop from the folks over at Giant Freakin' Robot, the Star Trek actor has been in serious talks with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige to join the billion-dollar franchise. As it stands, his potential role in the MCU remains a mystery but if his negotiations with them turn out great, it's safe to assume that he'll be given a pretty hefty superhero role instead of playing a supporting character.

Pine will be a major score for Marvel Studios and considering Steve Trevor is already canonically dead in the DCEU, it makes sense for the actor to seek career opportunities elsewhere. It's a shame though that WB seemingly never saw anything special in him because I've always thought that he should've been given a much larger role in the franchise. He could've easily been Hal Jordan in the SnyderVerse but I guess fate has other plans for him.

Meanwhile, Wonder Woman 1984 is streaming on HBO Max.
