Wonder Woman Final Trailer Will Give You Goosebumps

Don't you just wish it was already June? That's the first sentiment that probably came across everyone's minds following the release of the awaited final trailer for Wonder Woman.

And DC may have been saving the good stuff for trailer-fodder—hopefully, just trailers, though I'm sure they left some for the movie, too!—because the final trailer is every definition of epic.

The buildup of the trailer itself is something to be admired. We see a young Diana who wants to get to know mankind more, so she can be the rightful protector. But her mother tells her that they are not to be trusted, so she should be careful instead.

There are a number of new scenes, a lot of which feature Dr. Poison (Elena Anaya), Chris Pine's Steve Trevor, and, of course, Diana Prince exploring who she will become outside of Themyscira.

What I love most about this trailer is that it makes us feel for Diana's plight of discovering her role in mankind. It also shows her innocence to a world that basically confines women into tight, uncomfortable outfits and almost looked down upon with snide remarks. All the while these scenes are interspersed with a display of her strength, which you can almost feel through the screen—can that wall climbing thing be any more perfect?

There's a lot of action in between, and what I think could be a nice face-off with the open secret villain Ares in that lightning shot.

I do have to point out two things; they're more of a general wondering than concern. One, the confined role of women is very much felt in some of the quieter scenes, so I'm really interested in how they will make Diana address that in a fitting way. And two, well, this is a trailer, so I am still wondering if it's safe to put our hearts out in the hopes that DC would deliver.

But considering how many times I've already repeated the replay button, I'm still holding that sentiment: how I wish it was already June.

Wonder Woman will be out in theaters on June 2.
