Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer Shows a Sneaky Spidey

The secret's out—at least it is to one person as we see in the latest sneak clip for Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The promised MTV Movie Awards sneak peek gave us a good minute and a half look at the scene where Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland) is finally busted by his best friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) for being that hero "on YouTube."

That's after Pete shows us some Mission Impossible-esque moves to, well, sneak into his own room. I guess the young Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) is deadlier than any unfriendly goon that's out to get our web-slinger.

The clip also shows a few of familiar action scenes, but the clip basically gives us a feel of what a real high school Peter Parker would feel like. Personally, I feel like Holland's take on the friendly neighborhood superhero will be the closest to how I imagined the titular hero (and his friends) would react with his powers.

The past two Spider-Man actors had a lone wolf take on their powers, with Tobey Maguire being more absorbed with his crush over MJ and Andrew Garfield being a little darker given the two movies' run and ending. This is actually the first time that we're seeing Spidey sort of share his secret with a friend—as accidental as it can be.

We also see Zendaya's character Michelle for a bit, and from the looks of it, her interest in him seems non-existent in the romance department. Perhaps for now,

If the light humor based on this clip is any indication, this may be the most "high school feel" the franchise has given us for Spider-Man. And that's a nice take I would want to try out—especially in conjunction with the other Avengers.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be out in theaters on July 7.

Synopsis:
Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine -- distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.
