Wizards of the Coast Now Charging Pros For Previously Free Pro Tour Swag

Wizards of the Coast

Magic: The Gathering players used to get free swag at the Pro Tour but it looks like they're changing that starting this weekend, at Pro Tour Guilds of Ravnica in Atlanta. American Magic pro player Gerry Thompson took it to Twitter to say that Wizards of the Coast are now charging for shirts and water bottles that they used to give away.

For many players, that's not a big deal but the shirts would be a great swag especially for first-time Pro Tour players. Hopefully, Wizards of the Coast is using the money to help improve the areas Gerry addressed when he protested the state of professional Magic. Wizards already cut the amount of Grand Prix or Magic Fest events next year, so this just adds to the list of reasons why people in the Magic community are upset.

Pro Tour Guilds of Ravnica will take place this weekend. The format will be Guilds of Ravnica booster draft and Standard.
