Wizards of the Coast has announced on Tuesday that they are removing Magic Duels: Origins from online storefronts like Steam and ending continued support for the game. All in-game store and purchasing functions have been removed, and players who still have these games will be able to play multiplayer matches and have access to all single player content as well as all available cards. Multiplayer matchmaking in the game will continue as normal.
Released in July 29, 2015 for the PC, Xbox One, and iOS, Magic Duels is a free-to-play game based on the popular Magic: The Gathering trading card game, and it includes a story mode that follows the origin story of five of the game's Planeswalkers, single player modes, and online multiplayer modes. The game was developed by Stainless Games Ltd.
With Magic: The Gathering Arena already taking over the digital market for MTG, it's easy to see why WotC is ending support for Magic Duels.
