The Netflix Geeked social media accounts shared a video featuring showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich confirming that the first episode of Season 2 is an adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski's A Grain of Truth.

We get to see a bit of new footage of Ciri (played by Marta Bitner) riding a horse and camping in the night. She described the news as "the worst-kept secret", presumably because the episode title already hinted that.

The showrunner said A Grain of Truth is the "perfect kick-off for season two" because the story explores family dynamics and relationships. In the original short story, Geralt stumbles upon a rundown manor, inhabited by a cursed nobleman named Nivellen (played by Kristofer Hivju in the Netflix series).

"It's a story of a father and daughter coming together in a place that doesn't quite feel safe for them. We really get into Nivellen, who is played by the incomparable Kristofer Hivju. We get to explore his character and his backstory with Geralt as well," Hissrich said. "It's about the secrets that we keep from each other, and the monsters that we are inside sometimes."

We already know that Season 2 will feature Kaer Morhen, a training ground for witchers and Geralt's childhood home, so it's likely that Geralt and Ciri will head there after the events of A Grain of Truth.
