A showdown between Black Adam and Superman on the big screen definitely sounds like a money match but with Henry Cavill's DC Extended Universe status still in doubt, the potential clash between the two god-like characters continues to feel like a massive daydream. However, there have been rumors circulating all over the internet that Cavill is set to make his triumphant return to the franchise in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's standalone Black Adam film.

The former WWE superstar has always been down with the idea of sharing the DCEU stage with the Man of Steel actor and according to some reports, Johnson has been trying to convince Warner Bros. to keep him on board despite the company's apparent lack of interest.

Now, the film's producer is weighing in on the possibility of Cavill making his grand comeback in the upcoming DCEU flick. Black Adam producer Hiram Garcia recently spoke with Collider and got candid about The Witcher actor's chances of getting featured in the film or a future sequel. While he said that he has no idea what happens in the future, he did offer a promising remark regarding Cavill vs Johnson on the big screen. He said: "Hard to say, but I know that would be incredible if it ever did happen. We certainly know the fans want it! All I can say is that we're always listening to the fans and doing what we can!"

I've said this countless times in the past, Warner Bros. would be foolish to let go of Henry as it's crystal clear that fans are behind him and his portrayal of Kal-El. Of course, it no longer comes as a surprise how the studio continues to make things a lot more complicated than they should be but it's about damn time that they get things straight if they truly want to make the DCEU succeed.

Black Adam hits cinemas in 2022.
