Yuji Itadori is the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen. When the story started, he was just a normal high school student living with his grandfather. He was fit despite not being an athlete which caused the track team to continuously invite him to be part of their team. He joined the Occult Research Club instead so he can visit his dying grandfather every day.
One day, his grandfather died and left two powerful messages to him which are to die surrounded by people and to always help people. With this in mind, Yuji vowed himself that he would help people even if it meant swallowing a cursed finger to turn him into a vessel of the cursed spirit.
Will Yuji Be Able to Fully Control Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen?
As of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 Episode 2, fans have seen that Yuji Itadori can control Sukuna in his body. Gojo decided to test that by asking Yuji for 10 seconds while Sukuna took over the body. Sukuna fought with Gojo until the latter counted down to ten before Yuji took control of his body again.
With this, Gojo was sure that Yuji is a good vessel but this could mean that he will be executed. Yuji has the option to be executed right there and then or consume all 20 fingers of Sukuna then be executed with the cursed spirit. Yuji agreed with the second option and with the help of Gojo, he became a jujutsu sorcerer.
Since Sukuna knew that Yuji can still control his own body, the King of Curses decided to make a bind. In this bind, Sukuna has 1 extra minute to control the body whenever he said their agreed keyword. Sukuna also promised that he would not kill anyone. Of course, Yuji did not agree to this and demanded a fight to the death. He unfortunately lost and the King of Curses made sure that Yuji would forget about the vow.
Things also changed when Yuji was able to consume 15 fingers of Sukuna. He was losing control over his own body. Since the manga and series are still ongoing, we won’t know if Yuji can control his body again like before or if Sukuna will be able to fully take over after the 20 fingers have been consumed.
