The Wind Breaker anime is one of the most hotly anticipated anime of the spring 2024 season. It is a fighting show that features delinquents doing good deeds, but will there be any romance in the Wind Breaker anime?

What Is the Genre of Wind Breaker?
Wind Breaker (not to be confused with the Wind Breaker manhwa) is an action anime that explores themes such as delinquency and school.
It is based on Satori Nii's martial arts and yanki manga of the same name, which debuted in January 2021 and is still running as of writing.
Similar to Tokyo Revengers, Bucchigiri?!, and Cromartie High School, Wind Breaker features delinquent characters as its main leads.
This means viewers can expect to see high school students who focus more on fighting other students than studying inside the classroom.
In addition, Wind Breaker also features different delinquent gangs, such as Bofurin and Shishitoren, which at some point in the series will have a one-on-one brawl among their members.
This kind of storyline is common in delinquent anime and manga, so expect to see it happen in the series as the plot unfolds.
The Wind Breaker anime differs from other anime with a similar genre and theme because its story elevates the delinquent characters to a pedestal from which the general public perceives them differently.

Will There Be Any Romance in the Wind Breaker Anime?
Despite fans shipping Kotoha and Haruka together, there will not be any romance in the Wind Breaker anime, at least for now.
After all, the Wind Breaker manga is still ongoing, which means there’s hope that there could be a place for romance elements in the series.
The first 13 episodes of the Wind Breaker anime will focus not on Kotoha and Haruka's developing relationship but on Haruka's character development, notably his perception of Hajime Umemiya, based on manga events.
Although some of the characters in the series have girlfriends, none of the key characters have had significant romantic developments so far.
Meanwhile, BL anime fans are shipping some male characters, particularly Umemiya and Tsubakino, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
