The Marvel Cinematic Universe just added a few minutes to its continuing story with the five-episode mini-series of I Am Groot which follows the misadventures of everyone's favorite little tree. However, queries are now swirling around if there would be a Season 2 for the animated shorts.
Will There Be I Am Groot Season 2?
Even before the first set of shorts arrived on Disney Plus, I Am Groot Season 2 is already confirmed by Marvel Studios during the San Diego Comic-Con but to date, the details are still under wraps except that it will be having another five episodes.
In I Am Groot Season 1, other than Baby Groot, only Rocket is seen in the animated shorts along with a silhouette of Drax taking a shower.
The new set of shorts in I Am Groot Season 2 is expected to delve more into the various misadventures of Baby Groot and possibly before his adolescent stage happens in Infinity War.

I Am Groot follows Baby Groot's canon mini-stories in between Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 where he was still panted to a pot to before the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 where he joined the team and made some life-changing decisions like which button to press.
To date, there is no release date yet for I Am Groot Season 2 as it is still under production but it might not be long before it arrives. It may be out by 2023, possibly after The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special coming this December and before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in May 2023.
