I Am Groot to Feature Drax According to New Storyboard Art

One of the upcoming MCU shows that are currently in the works is the animated series I Am Groot which will be a series of shorts featuring Baby Groot as he grows up in the galaxy with new and unusual characters that get him into trouble. Just like most MCU projects, the exact plot details are still under wraps for now, but we now know another character who is going to join him in the adventure.

According to the new storyboard art of the series by artist Mark Hurtado, Drax is set to make an appearance in the series. The storyboard showed Baby Groot as he tries to steal Drax's gaming console. It is unknown yet if Vin Diesel and Dave Bautista are going to be part of the voice cast reprising their roles.

It's not surprising that Drax will be making an appearance in the series since he is also part of the Guardians of the Galaxy and this storyboard reveal indicates that other members of the team might also show up in the series. Most especially, it won't be surprising too if Rocket will also show up since he is associated and partners with Groot in the films. We can also consider the idea that characters outside the team will also show up in the series to join Baby Groot.

It also poses a question of whether Bautista will also be voicing the character. There is a possibility that he won't do the voice since in What If...?, the character was voiced there by Fred Tatasciore. It is also likely that they asked Bautista to do the voice role. Either way, whoever voices him, it's just great to know that Drax will be in the series and, hopefully, we'll get to hear more information about the series soon.
