Right now, Amazon Prime Video has not yet renewed The Terminal List to return for a second season. But its lead actor, Chris Pratt, believes a second season is likely to happen.

Pratt was recently a guest on the podcast of book author Jack Carr, where he was asked this same question. The actor shared that there are whispers of a second season without confirming the report:

"To the rabid fans of The Terminal List out there, you have nothing to worry about. We love you and appreciate your support. It's our life's mission to make sure you can come back to the well. We are working away."

You can watch the interview here:

Carr, who also works as an executive producer of the show, shared to Daily Mail: "Chris wants to do it and Amazon wants to do it. But it could all fall apart. I've worked in a couple of subplots to take the pressure off him in the next [season]."

This is in reference to the hard work Chris Pratt has done that "almost killed" him after appearing in nearly every action-packed scene.

The Terminal List is based on a novel written by former Navy SEAL Jack Carr. The novel is based on Carr's life, which stars SEAL commander James Reece (played by Chris Pratt). Reece unearths a military conspiracy after the death of the men in his unit.

The book was published in 2018 and has since been followed by four other novels. This gives the producers of the show plenty of material to work with in succeeding seasons.

If The Terminal List Season 2 gets approved, the storyline could follow the chronological order of Carr's books.

Showrunner David DiGilio encouraged fans to get a head start on the books by reading the second novel, True Believer, which will be the material they will use in the second season.

Carr's website describes the synopsis of True Believer where Reece accepts a presidential pardon for The Terminal List. This presidential pardon is in exchange for helping the government stop a worldwide terrorist plot connected to a "shadowy former Iraqi commando."

As he does so, Reece discovers a new conspiracy that involves a traitor in the CIA along with "a sinister assassination plot with worldwide repercussions."

Carr confirmed that the second season will have eight episodes, which is the same number of episodes as season 1.

Since the show has not yet been renewed for a second season, we don't know yet who among the cast will be returning. But the only person we can guarantee that would be back for Season 2 is Chris Pratt.

The book, True Believer, introduces a host of new characters, which will surely bring in A-list talents to the show.
