Fans are more than excited about Shadow and Bone Season 2, but will it be the curtain call or will we get Shadow and Bone Season 3? Here's what we know so far:
How Much Will Shadow and Bone Season 2 Cover?
Based on what we know so far, we expect Shadow and Bone Season 2 to adapt Siege and Storm, the second book in Leigh Bardugo's The Grisha Trilogy.
Since the Netflix tv series has opted to simultaneously draw content from the sequel duology Six of Crows, elements from Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom will also make it to Season 2.
Specifically, since Season 1 served as a prequel of sorts for Kaz and his gang. It showed the early days of Kaz, Jesper, and Inej's heists and teased on their future connection with Nina and Matthias, which we see more of in Six of Crows.
Of course, the show did make a few big changes, both to give Alina more agency and to blend what is essentially two different stories.
Because of that, Season 2 might also change some of the events of Leigh Bardugo's books to make the plot more cohesive, but, if it's anything like Season 1 we wouldn't worry.

Will There Be a Shadow and Bone Season 3?
As of writing, Shadow and Bone Season 3 hasn't been confirmed yet, so, until we have an announcement, we can only hope that no unexpected cancelation will cut the story short.
What we do know is that the Netflix tv series is based on a book trilogy, so it would only make sense for the adaptation to be a trilogy too. This has been confirmed by those working on the show.
In a 2021 interview, showrunner Eric revealed the intention that the fantasy tv show will run for three seasons: “It was a three-year plan that I laid out, or three-season plan," Heisserer mentioned.
Unfortunately, Netflix has been known to cancel some series after two seasons whether or not they are completed, but Shadow and Bone is pretty well-loved, so unless we get news of a cancelation there's no need to worry too much.
While three seasons are enough to wrap up Alina's story, we do hope for a Six of Crows spin-off afterwards because we can't have enough of their adventures.
Shadow and Bone Season 3 Release Date News and Predictions
Since Shadow and Bone Season 3 hasn't been announced yet we don't have a release date.
Given the timeline so far, we would expect a third season to come out around spring 2025, though, of course, fans would love to see it out earlier than that.
