Questions regarding the season 4 of Legacies have been buzzing around since the announcement that the season 3 of the series would be cut short from the original plan of 20 episodes down to 16. As the finale approaches, here is what we expect on what happens next after the end of the third installment of the spin-off of The Originals and The Vampire Diaries.
The daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall who made her debut in The Originals, Hope enters the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted headed by a familiar character from The Vampire Diaries, Alaric Saltzman. She has a lot to learn as her lineage speaks a lot for herself coming from most powerful bloodlines of witches, vampires, and wolves.
Season 3 will be ending with Episode 16 titled Fate's a Bitch, Isn't It? While the story seems to be going strong, cutting down the episode count short gives The CW ample time to prepare the transition of the character of Hope to being a Tribrid, hence, an activation of her being a vampire. With this, it is expected that she needs to die in order to totally unlock her full potential.
Will There Be a Season 4 of Legacies?
In an interview with Decider, Brett Matthews, showrunner of the show confirmed that Season 3 will be ending with Episode 16 despite having it planned for 20 episodes. He also teased that the finale will have a breathtaking cliffhanger leaving everyone hanging on the edge of their seats. Along with this, it has also been confirmed that the supposed last four episodes will be airing when the show returns in fall this year.
That only means that Season 4 of Legacies is happening! The show has been renewed for another season and more than that, what makes it exciting is it already has a release date revealed. Legacies will surely have a come back as it is among the shows of The CW slated for their 2021-2022 Season announced last month.
It is expected that the show would take a turn on the darker side and would focus on Hope dealing with being a vampire and learning about all her powers as a Tribrid.
Season 4 of Legacies is scheduled for release on October 14, 2021 via The CW. The Season 3 Finale will be out on June 24, 2021 at 8PM CT/9PM ET and after eight days from its release, all the episodes will be up on Netflix.
