Just after its return from a short hiatus, The CW's Legacies would be cutting Season 3 short and would be having Episode 16 as its finale instead of ending with 20. In an interview with Deadline, Brett Matthews, the showrunner of Legacies confirmed that while they planned for season 3 to have 20 episodes, they have decided to end with Episode 16 bringing a finale that would leave everyone on the edge of their seats.

What Happened in Legacies Season 3 Episode 15?
In Legacies Season 3 Episode 15, A New Hope, we see a sci-fi narrative where Hope, Lizzie, and Josie were trapped as a result of their hallucination from the Triad drug, and after they realize that the only way to escape it is to finish the story, they ride it out and try to find their purpose. It was later revealed that Lizzie penned the narrative from when she was 11 years old.
The girls receive a message from Alaric saying that they should not follow him because he is pursuing the Star Sword, the only weapon which could defeat the villain of the narrative, Lord Marshall. Despite the warning, they still went after Alaric. Just as Alaric tells them that only the chosen one could wield the sword, Josie realized that she already has it. However, they found out, in a twist of fate, that none of them can wield it.
The girls were taken captive by the men of Lord Marshall and since Lizzie is the one who wrote the narrative, she remembers that she used to see Hope as a competition for the attention of her father so she has chosen Hope to be Lord Marshall, the villain in her own story. A younger version of Hope arrives and saves them as she heard Josie relate to the story of Lizzie from when they were younger.
The younger Hope explains that she managed to re-write the story and make a different villain, the Hollow. It has now arrived to Hope's senses; she knows how the story ends and that she is the one who is worthy to eliminate Lord Marshall. The villain turned out to be Malivore. But that does not come without an adversary – Hope must become the Tribrid to defeat him.
Where to Watch Legacies Finale Season 3 Episode 16 Online?
The CW is the official home of Legacies and each of its episodes are about 50 minutes long. It airs on the cable television channel every Thursday and also has a livestream on DirecTV, FuboTV, and YouTube TV. Shortly after the release of the episode, it is uploaded on The CW App and on CW.com. A week and a day after the finale, the whole season would be uploaded on Netflix.
When is the Release Date and Time of Legacies Finale Season 3 Episode 16?
Legacies Finale Season 3 Episode 16 is slated for release on June 24, 2021 at 8PM CT/9PM ET via The CW and through the livestream on DirecTV, FuboTV, and YouTube TV. After its release, expect the episodes to turn up on CW.com and The CW App. Season 3 will be arriving on Netflix on July 2, 2021, eight days after the airing of the finale.
