One of the hottest releases this anime season is Tokyo Revengers and as popular as the manga series of Ken Wakui, the series continues to live up to the hype it has since day one. While the first season is far from the end, questions as to whether there would be a season 2 of the show are already making some noise.
Following the story of Takemichi, his travels to the past, and his goal of saving the only girl he ever loved, Hinata, from a gruesome death in the future, Tokyo Revengers piqued the interest of many since the release of the manga series and having the anime show turn up even helped the sales of the print go up.
Season 1 of Tokyo Revengers may do away with the confusion of the Part 2 and the Season 2 considering that the anime will be having 24 episodes in a double cour. To those who are not familiar with what a cour is, it is the way of measuring the length of an anime series within a three-month period of television broadcasting of the show.
As for the case of Tokyo Revengers, it is going to be a double cour which means it will be running for six months in total. To understand it better, the series would be airing within two anime seasons this year, both spring and summer with no three-month break in between or no hiatus for one whole season. The Part 2 and Season 2 usually gives a confusion on the viewers as some mistake part 2 for another season.
Will There Be a Season 2 of Tokyo Revengers?
It's confirmed that Season 1 will have a continuous Part 2 running during the Summer 2021 anime season! Whether there would be a Season 2 is anybody's guess. To date, there is still no information or official announcement from Liden Films or even Crunchyroll as regards the second season of Tokyo Revengers. What is sure is that the series will immediately have part 2 of its cour this coming July 4 until September 19.
However, it was rumored that Tokyo Revengers may have already been working on the second season as seen in one Twitter post from Chifuyu, and fans are waiting for the official announcement. Previously, it has been announced that Tokyo Revengers will be having a special anime event in Japan on December 18 which is near the schedule of the Jump Fiesta, a time fitting if there would be another season for the series. Who knows, that may be when the special announcement would be made?
Tokyo Revengers releases new episodes every week via Crunchyroll at 2:07 AM JST/ 11:07 AM PT/ 12:07 PM CT/ 2:07 PM EST/ 7:07 PM BST. The streaming platform also confirmed that they will be making the anime series available in its English dubbed version.
