Star Wars: The Clone Wars follows Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padme Amidala, and several other characters - villains included - during the titular wars between the Republic and the Separatists.

It spans the three years between Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005), although the final four episodes run concurrently with the final movie.

The Clone Wars takes place 14 years before Star Wars: Rebels (2014 - 2018), and 28 years before the live-action shows The Mandalorian (2019) and The Book of Boba Fett (2021).

133 episodes span seven seasons of The Clone Wars, including the animated 2008 movie of the same name. However, the series is not listed in chronological order on Disney+ - visit StarWars.com for the correct viewing guide.

You'll be glad to know that, unlike Star Wars: Visions (2021) and Star Wars: The Bad Batch (2021), The Clone Wars is available to purchase on DVD and Blu-Ray. This is because the show existed long before Disney+ came along.

With that said, in terms of streaming, you will only find The Clone Wars on Disney+. With Disney owning the rights to Star Wars, Disney+ is the sole distributor of the series.

This also helps the streaming service secure subscribers - having the show available on physical release would mean that users may end their subscription with Disney+, using it only to check out shows before purchasing hard copies.

However, there's a bit of a catch - as Disney brought the show back from hiatus for its seventh and final season, which aired exclusively on Disney+ in 2020, you won't find this season available with the existing DVD or Blu-Ray box sets.

So, unfortunately, you can only buy The Clone Wars seasons 1-6 on DVD and Blu-Ray, but the good news is that all seven seasons are available to stream on Disney+ - as well as the 2008 movie.

And The Clone Wars isn't the only animated Star Wars show on Disney+ - it's also home to the likes of Star Wars: Resistance (2018 - 2020), Rebels, The Bad Batch, Star Wars: Visions, and a number of vintage Star Wars cartoons.

Several characters from the show have also been brought to life in live-action, such as Bo-Katan, Ahsoka Tano, and Cad Bane, who have appeared in The Mandalorian (2019) and The Book of Boba Fett (2021).

Be sure to check out The Clone Wars on Disney+, or purchase the first six seasons and the movie on DVD or Blu-Ray on major online retailers such as Amazon and eBay.
