Unfortunately, there are currently no plans for Star Wars: Visions to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. The anime anthology series was created exclusively for the streaming service Disney+, and as such, it's the only place you can find it.

If you've not yet seen Star Wars: Visions, though, check out the trailer below:

Star Wars: Visions consists of nine episodes, each of them entirely separate to one another and, seemingly, untethered to established Star Wars canon and chronology, which includes the 12 movies and live-action shows such as The Mandalorian (2019) and The Book of Boba Fett (2021).

The episodes are “The Duel”, “Tatooine Rhapsody”, “The Twins”, “The Village Bride”, “The Ninth Jedi”, “T0-B1”, “The Elder”, “Lop and Ocho”, and “Akakiri”. While the show is critically acclaimed, there are no plans for a DVD and Blu-Ray release. With Disney owning the rights to Star Wars, Disney+ is the sole distributor of the series.

This also helps the streaming service secure subscribers - having the show available on physical release would mean that users may end their subscription with Disney+, using it only to check out shows before purchasing hard copies.

With all of that said, it is possible that the show will get a physical release at some point in the future. After all, you can purchase most things Star Wars on DVD and Blu-Ray, so it's a shame to have a great show like Star Wars: Visions missing from your collection.

On the other hand, DVD and Blu-Ray sales are dwindling, which is largely because of streaming services (as you already know, Disney+ is one of many). The movie theater isn't the only industry to have been hit pretty hard by the emergence of these services (as well as the COVID-19 pandemic).

For now, you'll just have to make do with a digital "copy "of the show - even if that copy is only available with an Internet connection. So, while your collection is a little lacking when it comes to Star Wars shows, why not view Disney+ itself as part of that collection?

So, Star Wars: Visions can only currently be viewed on the popular streaming service. All nine episodes are available to watch, and as none of them are connected to one another, or to the wider Star Wars universe for that matter, you're free to watch them in any order you like.

And Star Wars: Visions isn't the only animated Star Wars show on Disney+ - it's also home to the likes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008 - 2020), Star Wars: Rebels (2014 - 2018), Star Wars: Resistance (2018 - 2020), and Star Wars: The Bad Batch (2021), as well as a number of vintage Star Wars cartoons.

Recently, it was reportedly rumored that a Star Wars: Visions Season 2 is underway, but fans are hoping for something a bit more official on either May 4th or on Star Wars Celebration (May 26 - 29) this year.
