Stranger Things Season 4 has been making its rounds on the news as it is expected to return with much more to the story than what meets the eye as the team gets back together to fight the Upside Down and this will surely not be the last time we'll see the crew as Season 4 is not the end.

In the teaser of the fourth season, it is revealed that Jim Hopper, the adoptive father of Eleven and Chief of Police of Hawkins, is alive and will be returning to the narrative after his sacrifice at the end of Season 3.

In the preview, Hopper is seen to have somehow survived and is in Russia as a prisoner. The preview's title says "From Russia, with love" confirming his location and what seems to be a prison or a camp.

David Harbour will reprise his role as Jim Hopper and according to him, the fans will have a huge reveal about Hopper upon his return in the series.

Harbour added that the Duffer brothers wrote Stranger Things in a way that nothing established is just an extra; everything in the show is well planned and when Eleven found three boxes in the attic of Hopper with labels "dad," "Vietnam," and "New York," everything meant something.

Harbour revealed that Season 4 will give a massive reveal as regards the backstory of his character, Hopper, and how excited he is about this new aspect of him. Harbour said that this backstory is something he already knew since the first day of his involvement with the series and yet not all has been revealed in the series.

As exciting as the reveal would be, Harbour also confirmed that the revelation will express a more personal side of Hopper and that it will have a profound connection to what he does for Eleven and Joyce.

One of the most heartbreaking scenes in Season 3 is Hopper's sacrifice to save the kids and Hawkins from impending doom with it happening before the eyes of Joyce. In the end scene of Season 3, Eleven read Hopper's letter and tears are flowing on screen and beyond as it pierced the heart of viewers.

A father-figure turned adoptive father to Eleven, Hopper plays a role in the series that most viewers can relate to, may it be parents or children. His struggles as a working father to a teenage girl are so relatable that it mirrors reality.

With the impeccable acting of David Harbour, his backstory will provide more of how Hopper became the man we've seen so far, of how Hopper would be a key player in the quest against the Upside Down, of how Hopper acts as a father to Eleven.

Additional cast will be joining David Harbour and the whole Hawkins gang as Stranger Things 4 is set to premiere in late 2021 on Netflix.
