Will Ferrell And Jason Momoa To Star In Sci-Fi Comedy That's Galaxy Quest Meets Ocean's Eleven

If you haven't watched or even heard of Galaxy Quest, you should check the movie out right now! It's a great ode to sci-fi, and is considered to be one of the best non-Trek Star Trek films ever made. Now Will Ferrell and Jason Momoa are pretty big names in Hollywood, and news has it that the two are teaming up together to star in a Galaxy Quest/Ocean's Eleven-type comedy.

The news comes from Deadline Hollywood, and the movie is described:

"...Galaxy Quest meets Ocean's Eleven, with Ferrell a washed up TV star reuniting with his now grown TV show son (Momoa) who has become a huge star."

Directing the movie will be Nicholas Stoller, who's directed some pretty great comedies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Neighbors. The script will be written by Andy Mogel and Jarrad Paul, who are currently working on FOX comedy series, The Grinder.

Going back to Galaxy Quest, it's a movie about a cast of a very popular sci-fi series (much like Star Trek) who find themselves beamed up to a real alien ship. The movie stars Tim Allen as a William Shatner-esque washed up actor, and other cast members include the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Tony Shaloub, and Alan Rickman. Check out the trailer:

I'm very excited to see what this movie has in store, and I'm wondering just how much sci-fi will be in the movie. I'm a big fan of Ferrell, and Jason Momoa is pretty great. Let's see what happens.
