With the final run of the Scarlet Speedster confirmed to have tons of guest appearances of fan-favorite characters throughout the Arrowverse, a lingering question on whether Carlos Valdes will return as Cisco, Barry Allen's best friend, in The Flash Season 9. Finally, the actor breaks his silence on the matter.
Over the years, Cisco Ramon is the best friend of Barry Allen, and the last time everyone saw him in the long-running series in during the finale episode of The Flash Season 7 where he officiated the renewal of vows between Barry and Iris. He didn't return to the series after that.
Given that big names from the Arrowverse are returning in The Flash Season 9 like Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow, Kaiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/ Kid Flash, and David Ramsey as John Diggle/ Spartan, the question of whether Carlos Valdes' Cisco Ramon would return remains.
Carlos Valdes recently attended the Television Critics Associated winter press tour for his upcoming musical rom-com Up Here, and during the event, TVLine asked the question everyone wants an answer to: Will he return as Cisco Ramon in The Flash Season 9?

With four episodes yet to be filmed, the actor is unsure yet if he would return, Valdes said, “I just don’t know.” Valdes jokingly pitched that “FaceTiming” would be something cool between Cisco and Barry. Valdes cannot guarantee his reprisal of the role as he, himself, could not figure out where in The Flash Season 9 would Cisco fit in, “I can’t imagine a scenario.”
The Flash Season 9 is expected to pick-up from the events of Season 8 a week after Barry defeated Reverse Flash where the universe resets curing Iris from her sickness, Barry Allen as the new avatar of the NSF, Tinya and Renee reuniting once more, Mona and Dillio getting their powers back, and Cecile gaining telekinesis.
Given the roster of the heroes making guest appearances on The Flash Season 9, it seems that the final run of Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster would be a whole lot more challenging as he will try to save the world one last time.
