The DC Universe is set to embrace a brand-new era that aims to take the franchise to heights it has never been to before. Unsurprisingly, DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran want to start with a clean slate and ignore everything the then-DCEU has put out over the last decade.

This obviously means that the new DCU will completely ignore the shared universe established by Zack Snyder much to the chagrin of his diehard fans. With the SnyderVerse being thrown into obscurity, a new rumor suggests that DC Studios is exploring the possibility of putting some projects up for purchase.

According to Syl Abdul, DC Studios is open to the possibility of selling DC projects to streaming giant Netflix. While the scooper didn't go into detail regarding which projects they might be, we'd like to assume that it's all related to the SnyderVerse and the fans' collective efforts to have it "restored".

In case you weren't aware, Snyder fans have recently kickstarted another movement demanding Warner Bros. to sell the SnyderVerse to Netflix. As for the rumor, nothing has officially been confirmed yet so of course, it's always best to take these things with a grain of salt.

Personally, I don't think there's any truth to the rumor. However, assuming it does happen, it doesn't necessarily mean that Snyder can resume his unfinished DC business because at the end of the day, WB and DC Studios still own the rights to the characters. I believe it's time fans accept the fate of the SnyderVerse and give Gunn and Safran's DCU all the support it needs.

Meanwhile, the DCU's first chapter begins with Superman: Legacy, hitting cinemas on July 11, 2025.
