It’s fair to say that we are all hooked on Spy x Family right now. Since first airing at the start of April, the anime community hasn’t been able to get enough of the Forger’s adventures in the hit comedy anime! The series has been helped by some huge cast members, which perhaps makes it unsurprising that so many fans recognised Spy x Family’s Yor’s voice actor!

Who is Yor Forger?
On the face of it, Yor is just a quiet, honest clerk at Berlint City Hall. However, that’s just a cover for her work as an infamous assassin known as the Thorn Princess.
Twilight, unaware of her secret identity, chooses her as his fake wife for his own undercover mission, and so begins the life of Loid and Yor Forger, the fake parents of adopted child telepath Anya.
As a member of society, Yor isn’t the brightest. She’s quite gullible and worries about her ineptitude for basic household chores (other than cleaning which she’s an expert at thanks to her job). However, when it comes to her work as an assassin, she’s a truly deadly force that’s feared by all.

Who is Spy x Family’s Yor’s Voice Actor?
Yor Forger is voiced in Spy x Family by Saori Hayami, a famous voice actor with key roles in Demon Slayer and many other hit anime series.
Most people recognised her voice from Demon Slayer, where she plays Shinobu Kochou, the quiet-voiced but deadly Insect Hashira. You can see why she was chosen to play Yor based on this performance alone, but Hayami has an extensive and successful portfolio before Demon Slayer, too!

You can see that, amongst other things in her repertoire, Hayami is particularly adept at the quiet-but-deadly, ‘femme fatale’ style of character. The balance of light fun and quiet danger makes Yor such a fascinating character, and we can wait to see what happens next in her story!
