Tsukimichi Season 2 Episode 12 Reveals Miranda’s Backstory
In episode 12, Jin Rohan has the opportunity to reflect on his past, particularly his time working with Miranda, his first love.
Jin still believes Miranda is much stronger than him, so he wants to meet with her again and apologize for the hurtful things he has said to her in the past.
Miranda was an orphan who fought monsters and did other difficult obligations around her village to make ends meet.
She kept on fighting as if she were battling injustice, which piqued Jin's interest and led to his choice to join her.
Everything was going well between them until one day, when the town sent them to investigate the forbidden forest, where they discovered an abandoned mage’s workshop.
Suddenly, they come across a chimera with human arms sprouting from its back, which eventually assaults Jin and Miranda.
It is one of the most powerful monsters used to protect magicians' workshops, but Miranda annihilated it like a madwoman, scaring Jin and labeling Miranda a monster in the process.
Jin has never seen Miranda since then. However, toward the end of the episode, it is revealed that Miranda is also Sofia, the dragon slayer who attacked Makoto in season 1.
Why Is Miranda Hunting Greater Dragons in Tsukimichi?
Tsukimichi season 2 episode 12 finally exposed the real reason Miranda is on the hunt for all the greater dragons, which can be associated with her extreme hatred for her creator, Luto of Myriad Colors.
She despised her ancestry, and the fact that she was created by Luto only fueled her rage.
Miranda uncovered some records that reveal who she is, her true name, and how she was produced from the time she came onto Luto's workshop.
However, it is still unclear whether she was experimented on by Luto or whether she was his biological child.
Miranda has since changed her name to Sofia Bulga, abandoning her true identity.
Not only did she become a dragon slayer, but she can also hold her own against Makoto, demonstrating how strong she has grown in the series.
