After the noise and controversy of Johnny Depp's defamation court battle against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, the Pirates of the Caribbean star is now enjoying the bliss and quiet life in English Countryside. The A-list star chose to be away from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, tucked in his lavish home in Somerset.

A Life Away from the Spotlight

The 59-year-old is now living a life away from the spotlight, telling Somerset Life magazine that he just loves "places with character."

"I just love places with character. I have various houses in various places, and they all mean something special to me," the actor said. "I don't have them just to say I own them; I have them for use and because they are a bit special."

Despite being a famous Hollywood star, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor revealed he's "quite a shy person."

"That's one of the great things about Britain, and especially Somerset. I can just be me—and that's nice," he continued.

He also credits his neighborhood for letting him live a "low-key lifestyle."

"British people are cool and will greet you as if you are a neighbor without going over the top," Depp added. "I don't mind if people want an autograph or a brief chat, but not when I am having some private time with my family."

On this side of the world, he could go to shops without being marred by fans who wanted to take selfies with him. Though he didn't really mind doing that, it just got a "little too crowded" sometimes.

According to reports, Depp bought this house when he was just engaged to his now ex-wife, Heard, per Metro.
