Suri Cruise is maybe just the only biological child of Tom Cruise, but the A-list actor reportedly doesn’t play a part in his daughter’s life.

The two have remained estranged after Tom and Katie Holmes divorced in 2012. The father-daughter duo hasn’t seen each other for a very long time.

A source told Page Six that the 60-year-old actor isn’t a part of his 16-year-old child’s life, though his reps haven’t commented on the claim yet when asked.

The film producer and his former wife welcomed their firstborn in 2006. At the time, she was just his girlfriend.

They tied the knot in the same year but parted ways in 2011. The separation reportedly further drove Tom and Suri apart.

In his transcripts from his 2012 defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media, he claimed he hadn’t seen his kid for three months after he and Homes separated.

“Listen, when there is a divorce … things change,” he told lawyers in 2013. “It’s not an ideal scene. It’s not an ideal situation.”

During his testimony for the same $50 million lawsuit, which was eventually settled, the Mission: Impossible actor admitted his connection to Scientology played a big role in his separation from Suri.

He then revealed that “one of the assertions” that Holmes left him was “in part to protect” their child from Scientology.

Scientology Allegedly Keeps Suri Cruise, Tom Cruise Apart

In 2016, news emerged that Scientology was being blamed for keeping Tom and Suri apart, considering one of its rules was not associating its members with nonbelievers, calling it “forbidden.”

It has been known that neither of the mother-child duo was Scientologist, so Tom couldn’t have a relationship with either.

“This is his loss, his issue, his problem,” a source told the publication in the said year. “He must be really brainwashed.”

Katie Holmes, an ‘Enemy’

Former Scientologist member Leah Remini told The Post in 2020 that the religion considers Homes a “suppressive person,” an enemy.

Hence, Tom believes he “can’t be connected to Suri.”

The King of Queens alum supposed the Top Gun star is only waiting for Suri to “get older so that he can lure her into Scientology and away from her mother.”

It has been known that Remini wants to expose the alleged misdeeds of the Church of Scientology publicly.

Tom also has two adopted kids, Connor Cruise and Isabella “Bella Cruise,” with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
