The two A-list stars are teaming up in a new Apple TV+ Christmas movie entitled Spirited. Here's what we know about this movie:
When Is Spirited Coming Out?
Good news! The Apple TV+ Christmas movie, Spirited, will be released in UK cinemas on November 18. The best part about this is that it will also be available on the streaming platform on the same day.
For US viewers, Spirited will be released in theaters on November 11. But it won't be available on Apple TV+ until November 18.
What Is Spirited Movie About?
Spirited is actually a typical Christmas story that follows Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. For Spirited, the actors are giving this classic tale a "hilarious musical twist."
The official synopsis of Scripted reads:
"Each Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present (played by Will Ferrell) selects one dark soul to be reformed by a visit from three spirits. But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs (played by Ryan Reynolds) turns the tables on his ghostly host until Present finds himself reexamining his own past, present, and future."
It was revealed at the New York City premiere of Spirited that the two stars had actually been planning to make this movie "five years ago." Ferrell told PEOPLE: It was, you know what? The timing of things like that just happened when they happened. I mean, we had actually talked about this movie five years ago. Yeah, it was just a wonderful idea that I had responded to. I thought it was a really brilliant way to redo Christmas Carol, kind of from the ghost of Christmas present perspective and to also be in a musical for the first time where I really had to knid of do it for real."
