When it comes to parenting movies, there are way too many movies that talk about moms and how their mental health matters. Fortunately, Netflix has a new movie that shows this is important to dads too.
For the first time ever, Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg star in a comedy film titled Me Time. It is written and directed by John Hamburg, who is also responsible for other classic comedies such as Little Fockers, I Love You, Man, and Why Him? The movie will be making its way to the streaming service this month.
Me Time Release Date on Netflix
Production for Me Time actually started in August 2021. By October, the cast wrapped up the production of the film. But it's only now that the movie is getting released.
Kevin Hart, John Hamburg, and Bryan Smiley are credited as the executive producers on the Original. But for the Netflix movie, Hart's own production company, Hartbeat Productions, is credited for the movie.
While the movie was completed last year, you don't have to wait too long for the movie to be available. In fact, Me Time is slated for a Netflix release on Friday, August 26, 2022, around 12:00 am Pacific Time.
Me Time Cast
This is the first time Hart and Wahlberg are working together in a film. And it's interesting to see how the comedic talents of the two will jive in Me Time. Here is the full list of actors that will be part of the movie:
- Kevin Hart (as Sonny)
- Mark Wahlberg (as Huck)
- Regina Hall (as Maya)
- Tahj Mowry (as Kabir)
- Carlo Rota (as Alberto)
- Jimmy O. Yang (as Stan)
- Luis Gerardo Méndez (as Armando)
There are several other actors that will be part of this film, most of whom have undisclosed roles.
Prior to the start of production, it was said that Chris Pratt will be playing the role of Huck. But there's no mention of why he was replaced by Wahlberg.
Me Time Story
As written by Deadline, the synopsis of the movie is:
"When a stay-at-home dad finds himself with some "me time" for the first time in years while his wife and kids are away, he reconnects with his former best friend for a wild weekend that nearly upends his life."
This is such a cliche movie but it's interesting to see how the twist pays off.
