A new mystery thriller is making its way to Netflix real soon. And the best news about this is that it stars Mila Kunis.
The movie, entitled Luckiest Girl Alive, is an adaptation of Jessica Knoll's novel of the same title. It'll be directed by Mike Barker, who recently took part in Neil Gaiman's The Sandman. He is also known for directing The Handmaid's Tale.

Luckiest Girl Alive Release Date
Pre-production for Luckiest Girl Alive started in June 2021. A month after that and the crew reportedly started filming most of its scenes in New York City.
An outdoor party scene was filmed in Toronto, Ontario. Principal photography took a month. And by August, the status of Luckiest Girl Alive was moved to post-production.
So when will Luckiest Girl Alive be arriving on Netflix? The good news is that you no longer have to wait too long. The movie will be available to Netflix fans by 12:00 am PT on Friday, October 7, 2022.
Luckiest Girl Alive will also get a theatrical release on September 30, 2022.
Luckiest Girl Alive Plot
Luckiest Girl Alive is based on the 2015 novel by Jessica Knoll. Ever since the novel has been released, it has already sold over a million copies. The book has also been translated into 38 languages.
One of the most important scenes in the book is based on Knoll's personal experience with sexual abuse. The author also revealed in an interview with Today that "writing helped her cope" with the wound.
Deadline shared the official synopsis of the movie as:
"Luckiest Girl Alive centers on Ani FaNelli, a sharp-tongued New Yorker who appears to have it all: a sought-after position at a glossy magazine, a killer wardrobe, and a dream Nantucket wedding on the horizon. But when the director of a crime documentary invites her to tell her side of the shocking incident that took place when she was a teenager at the prestigious Brentley School, Ani is forced to confront a dark truth that threatens to unravel her meticulously crafted life."

Right now, there is no trailer available for Luckiest Girl Alive yet. However, Netflix has included the film in its 2022 slate reveal. The footage, found on 1:49 to 1:50, contains a single frame of the movie so it's barely enough to watch.
