Before the first season of Invincible was completed, the show was already renewed for a second season. It didn't take Amazon Prime too long to decide on this since the three-episode debut of the show was an instant hit. Amazon actually renewed the show for a second and third season right after the finale episode of Invincible Season 1.

Unfortunately, there is still no word on when that could be released. Because of this, many can't help but wonder if Invincible Season 2 will still be happening especially since the first season ended last year.

The good news is, there hasn't been any news of the show getting cancelled.

On December 20, 2022, Collider interviewed Amazon Studios' Head of Television, Vernon Sanders, about the status of Invincible Season 2. At first, the executive teased that "2023 is going to be a great year for people." But after more questions, he confirmed that Invincible Season 2 has been renewed and will make its return in 2023.

Although there hasn't been a cancellation, we also haven't heard of an announcement for the official Invincible Season 2 release date. So we don't know yet when to expect the show to return on Prime Video.

Invincible is a show based on the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. In an interview with ComicBookMovie, showrunner Simon Racioppa reminded fans that Invincible is a big show and that they it takes time to "do it properly." But the showrunner said that they are working hard on it.

Ever since the show was renewed, fans have anticipated Invincible Season 2 to be released in the first half of 2022. But considering it's an animated show, it's possible that we Invincible Season 2 could make its debut in fall 2022 at the very earliest. There is also some reason to believe that the show could get released in 2023.

Hopefully, it'll be worth the wait.

Amazon Studios' Head of Television, Vernon Sanders, confirmed that the show has been renewed for a second season and will make its premiere sometime in 2023.

Invincible proves the idea that it's not for young kids despite being a comic book or an animated show. If you've never seen an episode of Invincible Season 1, you'll be shocked to see lots of blood, guts, and gore in the series.

And yes, fans expect this content to continue on in the next Invincible Season 2 story. And if it's possible, fans are hoping the gore will be worse than the first season.

While we don't know what's in store for our superheroes, we can expect Invincible to fight against his own father, the main villain Omni-Man.
