Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 is coming this year, and many Netflix subscribers want to know when it will be released on the streaming service. The latest season will follow the success of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, the blockbuster shonen anime series based on the popular manga series by Koyoharu Gotouge.
The first season of Demon Slayer was made avaialble to stream on Netflix, and its story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a teenage boy who strives to become a demon slayer after his family is murdered and his sister Nezuko is turned into a demon. If you're wondering when Season 2 will be released on Netflix, here's everything you need to know.
Will Demon Slayer Season 2 be released on Netflix?
Netflix hasn't confirmed if it's acquired the streaming rights for Demon Slayer Season 2 yet, but given its popularity and how it became the most-watched anime series on its streaming platform, it's likely that the new episodes will be released on Netflix.
Netflix acquired the streaming rights to Demon Slayer Season 1 only after nine months of its release, so it's likely that the company will acquire the rights to stream Season 2, so expect both the English dub and the original Japanese versions (with English subtitles along with other languages) to be available on the streaming platform.
However, it probably won't be just exclusive to Netflix; expect major anime streaming platforms such as Crunchyroll and Funimation to release Season 2 as well.
When will Demon Slayer Season 2 be released on Netflix?
If Netflix confirms that Demon Slayer Season 2 is arriving in its streaming platform, it's likely that it will be released shortly after it's released in Japan this fall, so expect the new season to arrive on Netflix by the end of this year or early next year, at the latest.
In September 2021, it was announced that Demon Slayer Season 2 will debut on Fuji TV in Japan in two cours for the Fall and Winter anime seasons, but Netflix hasn't announced a release date for its platform.
Netflix already revealed its list of movies and TV shows coming this September, and Demon Slayer Season 2 is not included in the schedule, so it's likely that the new season won't arrive to the streaming service until March 2022.
On Sept. 25, Ufotable announced that Demon Slayer Season 2 will premiere on Oct. 10, kicking it off with a new version of the Mugen Train arc, but the Entertainment District arc won't begin until Dec. 5. There will also be a special one-hour premiere to kick-off the Entertainment District arc that day. However, the studio hasn't confirmed a release date for Netflix yet.
We will update this article once Netflix announces the offiical release date for Demon Slayer Season 2 on its streaming platform.
