Halloween is over but there's one movie that's trending on Paramount+ these days. The film, entitled Piggy, is a Spanish horror movie that tackles on the sensitive topic of teenage bullying. Originally called Cerdita, the film will remind you of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and a little bit of Carrie.

What Is Piggy Movie About?
The Spanish film follows the story of Sara (played by Laura Galán) as she is constantly bullied by other girls from her school. It doesn't help that her family are unable to empathize with her.
One day, she gets ridiculed, harassed, and physically assaulted at a local pool. But as she deals with her three attackers, Sara feels the presence of a stranger in the water. As she heads home, she sees the three teenage girls get kidnapped in a van. The question on her mind now is whether she should get the police involved or should she turn a blind eye to the crime.
Is Piggy A True Story?
Although Piggy is based on a short film, the bullying bit in the film is relatable to many young girls. But the truth is, the story of Piggy is actually based on director/writer Carlota Pereda's short film that was released in 2018. The short film was only 14 minutes long and starred Galán as well.
The performance and story of the short film managed to help it earn many awards at film festivals from around the world. And now, we can finally see the film through the streaming service.
Unlike the short film, the Piggy movie has a total runtime of 90 minutes.
