Hype for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is at an all-time high, thanks to the positive reviews that have been going around, currently circling at around 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans that have seen it in advance are praising it for being one of the best films that have captured what makes the concept of Spider-Man great. As someone who just saw the film, I can confirm that it's an incredible animated movie that will put a smile on the faces of those that love Spidey and animation in general.
Like most superhero movies these days, or franchise films in general, there is a post-credits scene that sets up a sequel and it is a must-watch for Spider-Man fans. This is your last chance to avoid this article since we're about to spoil this movie like a Kardashian.
Spoilers in 3...2...1…
After saving the multiverse (or should we call it the Spider-Verse?), we are brought to Nueva York and are introduced to one of the best versions of Spider-Man out there: Spider-Man 2099. That's right, Miguel O'Hara is seen as his sassy A.I. details how Miles and his friends saved the multiverse (Spider-Verse). It seems like Miguel has another mission that will take him to more universes, as he puts on a device that prevents him from glitching out and starts to recruit Spider-Men.
Hilariously, the first Spider-Man he recruits is the one from the crude animated series in the '60s. From there, they do what we all wanted them to do; reference the "you!" meme that keeps this series relevant on the internet. Awesome.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse comes out on December 14.
