Everything You Need to Know About Aoi Todo
If you need a refresher about Shibuya's hottest return, Aoi Todo is a third-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High, which Kasumi Miwa also attends.
While Todo is still a student, he's already a Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer, and he, along with Nitta, were the only members of Kyoto Jujutsu High deemed strong enough to make a difference in Shibuya.
He is an extremely powerful sorcerer and a master hand-to-hand combatant.
Does Todo Survive the Shibuya Incident?
Aoi Todo does not die in Shibuya, but the brutal arc might be the end of his career as a jujutsu sorcerer.
Todo first arrives in Shibuya with Nitta to find Mahito beating up a devastated, grieving Yuji.
Nitta attempts to help the dying Nobara with dubious results. Meanwhile, Todo manages to talk Yuji out of his misery, enough for him to be ready for battle again.
Both of them fight Mahito, giving everything to the battle and tiring him out as much as they can.
As later chapters of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga reveal, the battle does not go too well for Todo in the long run.
To avoid greater damage and possible death by Mahito's Black Flash, Todo has to cut one of his hands.
In the end, he's only able to distract Mahito enough for Yuji to attack him with a Black Flash of his own.
Todo's own cursed energy is spent, but he is key to defeating Mahito, even if it was Pseudo-Geto who killed the curse in the end.
What Happened to Todo After Shibuya?
One thing is for certain; Todo is never seen fighting again after Shibuya — so far. This suggests that he burned out his cursed technique and is likely unable to keep fighting.
Unlike Miwa, who is similarly unlikely to fight well anytime soon, Todo does not participate in the Culling Game. This implies that he's recuperating or that he is permanently incapacitated.
However, Todo placed great value on his identity as a jujutsu sorcerer so many fans theorize that Shibuya isn't the last we've seen of him.
It would be very cool if Todo got a prosthetic hand and became a jujutsu teacher, given all the valuable lessons he gave Yuji.
