Mushoku Tensei is finally back with part 2 of season 2. While Rudeus and Sylphy’s relationship is now a central point in the story, some fans are wondering what happened to Sara in Mushoku Tensei.
On top of this, fans are also wondering if Sara will return in the anime. The answer lies in the light novel series, which details what happens to Sara after the events of the second season’s first half.

Who Is Sara? An Adventurer and Rudeus’ Potential Love Interest
Sara is an adventurer that Rudeus Greyrat meets in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season 2. At the start, the two get off on the wrong foot, as Sara initially hated Rudeus when her party met him.
As a brash and impulsive character, Sara is rather reminiscent of Eris Boreas Greyrat. Thus, it’s no surprise that Sara and Rudeus eventually grow closer as Sara gets to know him more.
It was when Rudeus rescued Sara from the Icefall Treant that Sara truly warmed up to Rudeus. After this, they go on a date, which sees Sara get drunk.
After their date, Sara asks Rudeus to bring her to his room. As Rudeus still can’t get it up, the encounter becomes awkward, leading Sara to run away.
Following this and another misunderstanding, Sara goes to meet Rudeus, though it turns out he has already moved away with Soldat’s party.

What Happened to Sara in Mushoku Tensei?
Since then, Sara has not appeared in the remaining season 2 part 1 episodes, leading many to wonder what happened to her after her awkward encounter and subsequent misunderstanding.
Thankfully, Sara does return later in the story, though she won’t become Rudeus' love interest to the level of Sylphy, Roxy, and Eris.
In the light novels, Sara reunites with Rudeus in volume 13. After this, it will take a while for her to return, as she reappears only in volume 23.

Is Sara Coming Back in the Mushoku Tensei Anime? Our Prediction
The first season of the Mushoku Tensei anime covered volumes 1-6. Meanwhile, at season 2’s pace, it’s expected that it will cover volumes 7-12.
Given this, Sara likely won’t appear in season 2 part 2. If the anime does get a season 3, Sara will likely appear again and reunite with Rudeus, even if it’s only for a short time.
