What Christian Bale Could Look Like as the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder

Yesterday, word came out that Marvel is currently in talks to bring Christian Bale into the Marvel Cinematic Universe through Thor: Love and Thunder.

Though the original report didn't specify what role the Dark Knight star would play in Taika Waititi's second Thor movie, fans have been going wild, cooking up all sorts of theories and fan castings. While most fans tie Bale to Beta Ray Bill, others see the actor taking on the role of Gorr the God Butcher, the main antagonist of the 2013 Marvel comic book series Thor: God of Thunder by Jason Aaron.

At one point in time, Gorr was just a simple man living on a dying alien planet that found itself being plagued by predators, famine, and other natural disasters. Losing his mother and his pregnant wife to an earthquake despite his piousness, Gorr became a villain, butchering the gods when he learned that they didn't really care about mortal beings.

Taking the initiative to imagine what Bale might look like as the supervillain, a fan decided to create a new art piece showing Bale as Gorr.

While Gorr is a pretty exciting villain, Marvel has other characters that they could explore with Bale. The English actor is capable of playing many different roles, and so we wouldn't be surprised if Bale would be able to take on the role of a character, say, like Beta Ray Bill. Let's just wait and see what Marvel has in store for everyone.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set for release on November 7, 2021.
