Marvel's Werewolf by Night Unveils Spooky First Trailer

Marvel Studios has finally unveiled their first trailer for the upcoming MCU Halloween special Werewolf by Night during their D23 presentation last Saturday and was also posted online afterward. This is the first time that Marvel publicly acknowledged the project despite its development being reported starting last year.

Based on what they've shown, it looks like the aesthetic of the special is inspired by the classic Universal Monsters and Hammer Horror films due to its black-and-white photography and the style of horror that was being done that is based on that era. They also showed a quick glimpse at what seems to be Man-Thing, making his MCU debut in the special.

You can check the trailer below:

It looks like the upcoming special is going to be one of the most visually-striking MCU projects to date since it doesn't have the same style as the other films and TV shows. It would be curious to see how the character's introduction will set up the supernatural/mythical part of the MCU and perhaps it will lead to the long-awaited Midnight Sons team-up that fans have been clamoring for.

The special's synopsis reads: "On a dark and somber night, a secret cabal of monster hunters emerge from the shadows and gather at the foreboding Bloodstone Temple following the death of their leader. In a strange and macabre memorial to the leader's life, the attendees are thrust into a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic—a hunt that will ultimately bring them face to face with a dangerous monster."

Gael García Bernal, Laura Donnelly, and Harriet Sansom Harris star in the special. Michael Giacchino, who scored several MCU films in the past, serves as the director and composer.
