Netflix struck gold with the acquisition of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's Wednesday series, a project that pretty much took the entire world by storm and turned Jenna Ortega into one of the hottest actors in Hollywood. Nobody was prepared for the unprecedented success of the Tim Burton-directed show which bested the red and black streamer's flagship series Stranger Things in terms of viewership.

However, it looks like the hype for the show is slowly fizzling out, especially now that almost everyone on the planet has seen it. Shockingly enough, Wednesday is no longer the most-talked-about thing in the world of streaming and this week, it officially ended its impressive reign.

According to FlixPatrol, the hit comedy-horror series has officially been dethroned following a dominant run atop Netflix's most-watched programs that lasted for six consecutive weeks. The streaming giant still finds itself in a win-win situation as the show that trumped Wednesday is none other than Kaleidoscope which made its debut on New Year's Day.

In other news, Wednesday made headlines just recently after it was rumored that the show will be leaving Netflix to become an exclusive property of Amazon's Prime Video service. Well, it turns out that there's zero validity to the said rumor with the streaming giant just confirming that Ortega's adventures as Wednesday Addams will continue with them via the show's upcoming second season.

All episodes of Wednesday's first season are available to stream on Netflix.
