There's no denying that Jenna Ortega is one of the biggest breakout stars of 2022 and her acting career has barely scratched the surface. Following her involvement in Netflix's hit Addams Family spinoff show Wednesday and the Scream movie franchise, the rising star is also rumored for months to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The 20-year-old star is said to be joining the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series which recently started filming. Now, her potential casting in the show is once again getting steam online. According to a new rumor that's been spreading like wildfire all over social media (via @Spider_Culture on Twitter), Ortega has officially been cast as Ava Ayala aka White Tiger in the anticipated series.

For the uninitiated, Ava becomes the White Tiger in the comics after she inherits the amulet from her late brother Hector aka the original White Tiger. It's basically a situation similar to the MCU's current Black Panther storyline where Shuri becomes T'Challa's successor.

As it stands, the original source of the rumor remains unclear but reputable insider Daniel Richtman also reported about Jenna's supposed role in the Charlie Cox-led show months ago.

It's worth mentioning that Ortega already appeared in the MCU via a small cameo role in Iron Man 3. Coincidentally, the Robert Downey Jr.-led franchise also paved the way for Spider-Man to enter the MCU. Of course, there's a good chance that Marvel Studios will completely ignore Jenna's cameo and reintroduce her as a brand-new character but the possibility of her Iron Man 3 character being retconned as Ava Ayala isn't too farfetched either.

Daredevil: Born Again is expected to hit Disney+ in early 2024.
