Wednesday Should Be Single In Season 2, Show Star Insists Amid Percy White’s Sexual Assault Allegations

Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) may be described as the macabre teen daughter of the Addams family, but she is certainly no stranger when it comes to romance. Wednesday Season 1 revolved around a murder mystery with a hint of a love triangle in between, specifically with Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin) and Xavier Thorpe (Percy Hynes White). However, given the recent sexual assault allegations on the Xavier actor, Wednesday star Emma Myers (who plays Enid) suggests that the Addams family daughter stay away from romance for Wednesday Season 2.

Recently speaking with Variety, Myers opens up about her expectations for Wednesday Season 2, which involves Wednesday’s dating life and potential romance between the macabre teen and Enid. Check out Myers’ full quote below:

“Anything is possible in the show.” Myers said, “We haven’t really spoken about direction at all, so I don’t really know what the game plan is for anything. [But] as far as love interests go for Wednesday, I feel like — at least for a second season — she needs to take her season of singleness.”

Without missing a beat, Myers continued on to say how much Enid’s friend had had to go through a lot on her first time in Nevermore Academy, so it is only natural that Wednesday gets to take a break from the whole fiasco: “She just had a whole fiasco with her men, she’s got to lay it off for a little bit. I would be deterred from dating anybody if I had gone through that.”

This opens up so many possibilities for plot changes and pacing for Wednesday Season 2 as this would not only inevitably lead to Wednesday strengthening her bonds among friends, but this might just be what the fans ordered: kicking out Percy Hynes White from the cast. Seeing as Netflix has yet to address if they plan on firing the actor from the show, Wednesday Season 2 would definitely benefit from a different story.

Wednesday Season 2 has yet to receive a release window. For now, you can catch up on Wednesday Season 1 which is available to stream on Netflix.
