Wednesday Gets Dethroned By HBO's The Last of Us In New Streaming Data Chart

As The Last of Us continues to thrive on HBO Max’s streaming site, breaking records since its premiere night, the Naughty Dog video game adaptation has beat yet another series in a new streaming data chart: Netflix’s Wednesday.

According to a new streaming data chart prepared by Parrot Analytics (via The Wrap), a trusted analytics calculating global demand based on streaming numbers, search traffic, social media activity and more, The Last of Us is the most in-demand show from February 11 to 17, dethroning Wednesday. The data shows that The Last of Us is 61.3 more in-demand as compared to Wednesday, which came in second place at 28.8 times.

Despite the gap between Wednesday’s November 2022 release and The Last of Us this January 2023, it is important to note that both come from different streaming platforms, which makes the competition all the more fierce. While Wednesday explores a murder mystery, The Last of Us shows the journey of Joel and Ellie trying to survive through the apocalypse.

HBO’s The Last of Us showed promise since its premiere night, breaking a major record on HBO Max, and as the show progressed with more episodes releasing weekly, the show garnered higher viewerships, enough to have secured a The Last of Us Season 2 in the process!

Ahead of The Last of Season 1 ending, the series showed promise based on showrunners Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin’s dedication to adapt a game-accurate TV series. The Last of Us Episode 7 drops this Sunday, February 26, at 9PM ET/PT on HBO Max.
